Judy Barreto D’Cunha

Having completed her Graduation, she decided to equip herself with a B.Ed degree.  She has taught at high school level for several years specializing in English and Mathematics. She Is now a successful entrepreneur.

 She started an English drama group called NAQAB for the youth and directed several Plays – Like “ Oklahoma” Brecht’s Chalk circle, Alibbaba and the forty thieves, the Miracle Worker and When the Bamboo sings.

 She has collaborated with the Diocesan board and the Nirmala college of Education on methodology for English teaching in the primary classes using drama techniques and has conducted workshops on English language teaching and extra curricular planning in schools.Currently works with youth leadership programmes for team building and motivation.

Basil D’Cunha

He is Post graduate in HR from Tata Institute of Social Sciences –Bombay and has completed Law from the Bombay University. He is a Chartered Member of Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (U.K.) and has a Post Graduate Diploma in Vocational Guidance and Counseling from the Annamalai  University.


 He has worked for over 3 decades   as HR Professional in various Companies i.e.  Boots - Bombay,   Zuari Agro Chemicals - Goa, Dubai Aluminum and Emirates Airlines in Dubai UAE.  For   a brief period was HR Consultant to Qatar Airways in Doha –Qatar.

 He currently works on a voluntary basis with the Lights of the World Movement in  Goa  in  Career Guidance and Counseling. He has written a  book  titled  “Choose your very own Career” in  English and Konkani .

Anthony Alphonso

As an Alma Mater of Don Bosco Matunga, Mumbai, he carries with him the air and grace of a true Boscoite.    Self-driven and results-oriented and with a positive outlook. He is  a natural forward planner. He has over 33 years of experience in the fields of Marketing and Administration. Having worked both in India and abroad, he has played a wide spectrum of roles in various organizations. In his present capacity, he will undertake the management and planning of strategic marketing activities at the centre.


 In the past, he has represented multinational companies for Distributor’s and Dealership seminars, organized launches of new products, and has been instrumental in increasing the turnover and achieving targets for the organizations he has worked with in the past. His job has taken him to South Africa, all parts of Middle East and Far east Asia.

 He has immense experience in leading teams, training and development, working with government compliance, administration and brand management. Being a linguist, helps him to get across to people with ease. Being an empathic communicator, is able to see things from the other person's point of view.

Christine Alphonso

A thorough-bred Jesus & Mary product, from Convent of Jesus & Mary, St. Anthony's Agra and  College Of Jesus & Mary,St. Bede's   Simla has a cumulative experience of over 29 years in the field of education.

After her post-graduation she has taught at schools both in India and abroad. She has gained extensive experience working with  institutions like Convent of Jesus and Mary, St. Anthony’s Agra, Don Bosco Panaji, Don Bosco Naigaon, Mumbai and Indian School Muscat.

As a result of such prolonged exposure to education both domestic and International, she is proficient with the very latest in teaching methodologies, and actively keeps in touch with other educationalists to learn new ideas. She has learned and used different techniques and tools to educate students for effective and efficient teaching. 


 Being a committed educationalist, she strives to instill the right values in students. In order to achieve  , she has also been instrumental in organizing English elocutions, exhibitions, story telling, art and singing competitions. She has also been the main organizer in school sports meets, drill displays, and school annual days with her own scripts.

 She has several feathers in her cap, some of which include working as the editor of school magazines, taking part in various workshops, and working with parents and children affected with psychological problems.

She believes that an educator should have a glowing heart and a beautiful smile. They should spread love and happiness all around  them. They should make a difference to people's lives. 


Her inspiration has been  Helen Keller's words that the best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart. 


 She is also presently writing a hand book for teachers outlining several skits and stage plays to promote values. Her favourite quote is Gandhiji's words "Be the change that you want to see in the world. "

As a Center Head of  Happy Hearts, she wants the center to be a platform for all creative people and make it a place where minds progress but hearts are preserved! She believes that the right 'ATTITUDE' in an individual is very important for success.

Christine and her team are creating an awareness of the Montessori system of education in Goa . 


Dominic Alphonso

Has completed his Masters in Business Administration in the University of Wales, UK, specializing in Marketing.

Prior to this, he has also studied at the prestigious St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. He is proficient in the various facets of marketing like International Marketing, Services Marketing, Customer Relationship Management, Brand Management, Strategic Management and Sales Management.

 Having completed his primary level education in Oman, and secondary education in India, he has first-hand experience in the difference in teaching methodologies in both these countries, and thus is able to combine both and promote a form of education that is both relatively modern, yet traditional enough to retain values in students. His previous work experience includes well known multinational companies like Accenture and Marriott. He has also worked with a real estate developer, and has taken part in promotions in various parts of the country like Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai etc. He has also attended an Advanced Diploma Programme in Child Education and Applied Psychology.

 He has actively participated in various public activities like elocutions and debates. As cultural head in two Institutions, he has groomed teams to participate in various inter-collegiate competitions. Due to his experience as cultural head, he is well versed in planning and budgeting activities. He also participates in a youth leadership programme conducted at Don Bosco Panaji, in order to instill values and leadership skills in the youth of Goa. He is certified in Voice and Accent Training through Accenture in Mumbai, hence he will be instrumental in training soft skills as a faculty at the centre, as well as actively participate in marketing the various programmes conducted at the centre. Being proficient in computer operation and softwares like CorelDraw, PhotoShop, Office and several Audio and Video mixing software, he is an immense asset in designing magazines and directing promotional videos

 Being an avid  reader, he is very knowledgeable  and  wants to share it with the students of today.  Has an ear for music and plays the guitar.

Clarissa D'souza

An Arts Graduate from St. Xavier's College, Mapusa, Clarissa has always been keenly interested in the field of teaching.  This path has led her to receive training in the Montessori system of teaching, which has revolutionized her understanding of education.

Apart from teaching, she is also technologically inclined, and has completed a diploma in web designing as well.  She is fond of Music and likes singing.

Cressida Gomendes

Calm and always smiling, Cressida is like the personification of the Montessori spirit.


She is a Graduate in commerce from Rosary College, Navelim, following which she did her Diploma at Goa Montessori and N.T.T. Study Centre.

She likes to read books, and is extremely fond of cooking and travelling.

Ruth Fernandes

A person who always smiles, Ruth likes to spread happiness around her.

She is an alumni of St. Thomas, Aldona,Goa, following which, she discovered the Montessori system of education at the Goa Montessori and N.T.T. Study Centre.

She loves music and is an avid keyboard enthusiast, but most of all, she enjoys being with children. 

Geeta Naik

Constantly cheerful and exuding positive vibes, Geeta is a multi-faceted member of the Happy Hearts family.

Having lived in Pune and Mumbai before moving to Goa, she has a variety of experiences to draw from while educating her pupils. She has worked with well established schools and even a Multi National Aviation company. She is an accomplished linguist and can speak English, Konkani, Hindi, Marathi and Gujrati.

 She is extremely fond of dancing, cooking reading and travelling.

Frennie Maria Lopes

A student of Mary Immaculate Girl's High School and Khandola College, Frennie is multi talented. She had attended her Teacher Training at Nirmila's Teacher Training Institute. 

She is an accomplished musician who loves singing and playing the violin. Apart from music, she is tremendously interested in fashion designing, sports and athletics. She has five years of teaching experience. 

As an Activity, Music, Dance, Sports and Art and Craft Teacher, she is much loved by all the children at Happy Hearts. 

Louisa Lopes

Louisa is a loving and hard working teacher who is greatly admired by her students. 

An Alumni of Holy Family School, Porvorim, she is dedicated to her work and loves being with children. Apart from being trained in the Montessori Apparatus, she is also a certified Beautician and has also done a Secretarial Course. She has been an educator for the past five and a half years. 

In her free time she helps to manage a farm with livestock, and she also loves baking and reading.

Dr. Jovita Sequeira

Responsible and caring, Dr. Jovita has been so profoundly touched by the Montessori system of education that she has been compelled to shift her paradigm from Homeopathic Medicine to Education. 

Apart from being a qualified homeopathic practitioner, she is also a qualified Montessori instructor. She has tremendous experience both within and outside Goa. 

When she is not working with children, she likes to read, travel and dabble in creative pursuits like flower making, photography, and embroidery  

Jagruti Harmalkar

Part of the team that manages the Tulip Group, Teacher Jagruti is well versed with the teachings of Dr. Maria Montessori. She has completed the Diploma in Child Education and Applied Psychology from AIECCE, New Delhi and Montessori at Goa Montessori. 

Caring and jovial, She has a natural affinity towards children, and the kids love her for her wonderful smile and friendly personality.

She is particularly fond of taking part in cultural activities. 

Sayali Prabhu Vernekar

Sayali manages the Cherry Blossom group. She shares a good rapport with the children in her class. 

The Children are fond of her strong and independent spirit and love her approach-ability and friendliness.

Apart from the Pre-School, she also teaches Montessori Practicals to the trainee teachers at Goa Montessori and N.T.T. Study Center.

She enjoys driving and travelling, and discovering new places. 

Karina D'Souza

Teacher Karina takes care of the Violet Group. She has been with Happy Hearts for four years. As an alumni of the Prestigious St. Xaviers College, Mumbai, she brings unique insight into her work.

The children love the knowledge and information that she equips them with on a regular basis. She takes particular care to implement the principles of Montessori Education in all the work that she does. 

Natasha D'Cunha

Natasha is a teacher of the Tulip Group. An alumni of Lourdes Convent, Saligao, she is friendly and calm with children. She has also studied at St. Thomas Higher Secondary, Aldona. She has done Fashion Designing at the Government Polytechnic in Panjim. She then trained in the Montessori Method at Goa Montessori and N.T.T. Study Centre, Porvorim. Her hobbies include fishing and watching the latest blockbusters.

We do not believe in the educative power of words and commands alone, but seek cautiously, and almost without the child knowing it, to guide his natural activity.
